GhostArc VPN equipment is hosted in carefully selected data centers because the best equipment in the world cannot compensate for careful selection of hosting facilities. When choosing a new location for services, there are several factors that have to be considered, and we aim to find the sweet spot by paying attention to the details.
- Reliability: Above all else, the facility must offer strong guarantees of reliable power, cooling, and connectivity to the internet. This is usually reflected by a service level agreement from the data center operator, but we take the time to ensure that the facility has appropriate generator capacity, sufficient reserve cooling capacity, and connectivity to the internet through multiple peers, using fault tolerant transmission equipment.
- Security: We take security seriously, and we are constantly working to maintain and improve security because we use the same equipment and services that we offer our clients. The physical security of the equipment is an important factor in offering a service that meets our high standards, so we only use data centers that have strong physical access controls, and we only use full, dedicated, lockable server racks for our equipment.
- Performance: Almost any data center can offer connectivity with raw bandwidth that massively exceeds the performance of a consumer or normal office internet connection. We take the extra step to select hosting that offers low latency connections to the dedicated data centers used by major internet services such as Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Microsoft. Lower latency means a faster user experience. It means web pages load faster, respond more quickly, and ensures more effective bandwidth utilization for our customers.
